The Acta Musei Beskidensis journal is published online at amb.muzeumbeskyd.com continuously during the calendar year. At the end of the given year, the issue is closed and published.
The review process takes place online through the editorial system at amb.muzeumbeskyd.com.


Open Access Statement

The Acta Musei Beskidensis journal promotes the Open Access policy and is made available under the terms of open access in accordance with the Creative Commons CC BY-NC 4.0 International license.

In the Acta Musei Beskidensis journal, the author does not pay fees for processing and publication (Article Processing Charges) and no other fees are required from him.


Basic principles

The principles of publication ethics of Acta Musei Beskidensis journal are based on COPE (Committee on Publication Ethics) documents.

The obligations of the editorial board, authors and reviewers result in particular from the principles of publication ethics:

Obligations of the editorial board

Editorial board

  • is responsible for the content and quality of the journal and its professional focus
  • accepts for review manuscripts that correspond to the professional focus of the journal in a non-discriminatory manner (regardless of race, gender, sexual orientation, religion, ethnic origin, citizenship or political or civic views of the author)
  • prevents possible conflict of interests of authors and reviewers; a conflict of interest occurs if a member of the editorial board or a reviewer has a different professional opinion on the main topic of the reviewed manuscript, participated in the creation of the given manuscript in any way, has a professional or private relationship with the author or a group of authors, or can gain any benefit from their actions in the review process (professional, financial or personal)
  • arranges for the accepted manuscript for the editorial process at least two independent reviewerswho have no conflict of interest with the author or the journal
  • preserves the anonymity of the author and reviewers during the review process
  • decides whether to accept or reject a manuscript for publication, such decision is final and cannot be appealed against
  • strives for constant improvement of the professional and formal scope of the journal, supports freedom of expression, in accordance with generally respected ethics, and is ready to publish any corrections, retractions and apologies after prior discussion
  • issues instructions regarding the entire editorial work (instructions for authors, instructions for review procedures and reviewers, etc.)
  • ensures compliance with publication ethics based on COPE (Committee on Publication Ethics) documents
  • guarantees compliance with the above rules

Obligations of the author

Author

  • declares the manuscript to be his/her original work
  • declares to comply with the journal's publication ethics based on COPE (Committee on Publication Ethics) documents and declares that he has familiarized himself/herself with this journal's publication ethics
  • complies with the publisher's requirements for the structure of the contribution specified in the Guidelines for Authors
  • observes the scientific and professional level of the manuscript; is responsible for the verifiability, originality and truthfulness of the data used by him/her
  • cites properly and according to the citation rules set out in the Guidelines for Authors; lists all sources used
  • lists all co-authors who significantly contributed to the preparation of the manuscript (e.g. study planning, data collection or interpretation of results)
  • guarantees that the manuscript has not been published in the past and has not been simultaneously submited the manuscript to another journal for publication

Obligations of the reviewer

Reviewer

  • follows the guidelines of the editorial board and the publisher
  • maintains confidentiality about the review process and respects the confidentiality of information obtained during the publication process
  • conducts the review objectively and impartially
  • presents a professional opinion polemic in the review, personal criticism is prohibited, also draws attention to shortcomings in the citations; in the event that the submitted text is similar or significantly overlaps with another already published work, notifies immediately the editorial board
  • communicates without delay a possible conflict of interest with any of the authors or institutions; in the event of a conflict of interest, the reviewer cannot evaluate the manuscript
  • notifies the editorial board of possible plagiarism or behavior of the author that is contrary to the publication principles of the journal
