Acta Musei Beskidensis 2021, 11:3-52 | DOI: 10.70231/amb.2021.001

A total of 146 bryophyte specimens are deposited in the bryological herbarium of the Museum in the town of Bruntál. Most of the herbarium specimens were collected by Johann (Jan) Richter, born on 14th May 1900 in the town of Město Libavá, but we do not know where and when he died. A revision of all herbarium specimens revealed that this collection contains specimens of 15 red-listed taxa according to Kučera et al. (2012). One species, Entosthodon muhlenbergii, is classified as critically endangered (CR), two species, Paludella squarrosa and Schljakovia kunzeana, as (severely) endangered (EN), two species, Calliergon giganteum and Plagiopus oederianus,...

David Hlisnikovský, Petr Kocián

Acta Musei Beskidensis 2021, 11:53-66 | DOI: 10.70231/amb.2021.002

Microrrhinum litorale, native to the Mediterranean area, is a casual alien in the flora of the Czech Republic. It was first collected, however not recognized, amidst railway tracks of iron ore heaps in the town of Třinec in the late 1960s. In 1997, it was first reported to occur in the town of Třinec, this time with the correct identification. The origin of the first diaspores is unknown. In the recent decade, the species seems to be spreading slowly from the town of Třinec along the railways and the main motorways to the broader Ostrava region.

Petr Jeziorski

Acta Musei Beskidensis 2021, 11:67-84 | DOI: 10.70231/amb.2021.003

The purpose of this article is to summarize the results of dragonflies and damselflies (Odonata) surveys in the Rákosina Nature Reserve in the Poodří Protected Landscape Area (Czech Republic). Odonates were studied by sampling adults, larvae, and exuvia in 2012 and 2018 at 7 different sites which contain stagnant waters (forest and meadow pool, wetland meadow), meadow channel and running water (forest stream, Mlýnka millrace). Altogether, 33 species (29 species in 2012 and 25 species in 2018) were documented in this area. Five of them are listed in the Czech redlist - critically endangered species Sympetrum depressiusculum, vulnerable S. flaveolum...

Acta Musei Beskidensis 2021, 11:85-109 | DOI: 10.70231/amb.2021.004

In 2017 the heteropteran community of the peatbog and its closest surroundings was studied in the valley of the Kotelnice brook (Silesian Beskids). The locality is the only beskidian transitional mire, it arose on the landslide ca 11 000 years old. Vegetation is classified as Carici echinatae-Sphagnetum ass. Peatbog is surrounded with diverse bushes and tree species as well as growth of bracken Pteridium aquilinum. So far, 57 species of Heteroptera have been confirmed in this locality very valuable from geomorphological, botanical and entomological view. Six of them are listed in the Czech Redlist: critically endangered Lamproplax picea (tyrphobiont...

Vision of a Museum of the Future

Danka Šubová

Acta Musei Beskidensis 2021, 11:141-146 | DOI: 10.70231/amb.2021.007

In addition to the main activity, administration of museum funds, documents, and presentation of them to the general public, certain new priorities for museums appear for the future. They are: closer cooperation with academic institutes, checking of compliance with safety at work with protective equipment during treatment of collections and documents, as well as in disinfection of the surroundings, digitization as an instrument for study, protection of collections and documents, but also for more effective homeland and international cooperation, application of the new marketing instruments in work with the public, reflecting on new society-wide topics...
