Revision of the biogeographical regionalization of forest soil buffering

Pavel Samec

Acta Musei Beskidensis 2009, 1:1-22 | DOI: 10.70231/amb.2009.001

Buffering of forest soils is very tied system mechanism which inhibits potential impacts of soil acidification. In the landscape spheres, it is naturally differentiated due to local variations in influences of soil forming factors. Bedrock as well as subsoil geochemistry, slide threatenings or intraskeletic erosion and character of humification belong to significant soil forming factors that undermine the soil buffer capacity. Undoubtedly the soil buffer system differentiates in various regions and in various geotectonical units.Dissimilarities in classifications of forest soil buffer potentials were evaluated according to runtime forestry biogeographical...

The invasive species Senecio inaequidens DC., is found in three localities in the northern Moravia and Silesia, Czech Republic. It is new to the region. It is found on railway tracks or in its close vicinity to train transportation. Description of the new localities is given in detail. The possible routes of introduction are shortly discussed.

Production of the Rosemary willow (Salix elaeagnos) on natural site of the Morávka river alluvium in the Podbeskydský bioregion (Czech Republic)

Petra Rychtecká

Acta Musei Beskidensis 2009, 1:31-38 | DOI: 10.70231/amb.2009.003

The article deals with Salix elaeagnos Scopoli, 1772 production in natural environmental conditions and with aspects of it energy using. Rosemary willow (S. elaeagnos) is a fast-growing species and it has production maximum in young growth stages as r-strategist. The experimental stand is located in the Morávka river alluvium of the Podbeskydská pahorkatina Upland. Total of 1251 S. elaeagnos specimens were observed on the area of 856 m2. Biomass of the experimental stand was 44,8 ton/ha in age of 5 years. Storage energy of biomass was 802,4 GJ/ha. S. elaeagnos is very endangered species in the Czech Republic. Silviculture of S. elaeagnos for energy...

Bank vegetation study of the Mohelnice river (Moravian-Silesian region)

Martina Velčovská

Acta Musei Beskidensis 2009, 1:39-58 | DOI: 10.70231/amb.2009.004

This article deals with bank vegetation along the Mohelnice river that was studied during 2006-7. It analyzes vegetation's structure and expansion of alien and invasive species and introduces the recorded threatened and rare species. Luzulo-Fagion Lohmeyer et Tüxen in Tüxen, 1954 was the most frequent plant association, 14 species belong to endangered species. The results, that confirm increasing spreading of neophyte species in the Mohelnice alluvium, are compared with the research done 40 years ago. The results of both studies confirm the highest occurrence of nonindigenous species in the lower part of river alluvium and their increased occurrence...

To the present state of knowledge of Barremian-Aptian ammonites from the Godula Facies of Silesian Unit in the Moravskoslezské Beskydy Mts. (Outer Western Carpathians, Czech Republic)

Zdeněk Vašíček

Acta Musei Beskidensis 2009, 1:59-78 | DOI: 10.70231/amb.2009.005

In the submitted contribution, a history of researches on the occurrence of fossils in the Barremian-Early Aptian deposits from Hradiště Formation of Godula Facies of the Silesian Unit in the Czech territory is given. Here, ammonites represent the main faunistic element. By collecting carried out in the time period of almost 150 years, extensive collections containing several thousand species, of which more than a hundred species of ammonites have been described so far, have been acquired. The classification and the denomination of them are revised here according to the principles of present day taxonomy. In addition, the distribution of them in chosen...

Libor Dvořák, Petr Bogusch, Vladimír Smetana

Acta Musei Beskidensis 2009, 1:79-88 | DOI: 10.70231/amb.2009.006

Results of the aculeata Hymenoptera (Vespoidea and Apoidea) captured using Malaise traps in the Králický Sněžník National Nature Reserve are presented. Altogether 306 individuals of 50 species were recorded, mainly montaneous or forest species. Several rare species have been found, e.g. Anoplius tenuicornis (Tournier, 1889) - Pompilidae, Dolichovespula omissa (Bischoff, 1931) and Symmorphus allobrogus (Saussure, 1855) - Vespidae, Crossocerus capitosus (Shuckard, 1837) and Dryudella femoralis (Mocsáry, 1877) - Crabronidae, Lasioglossum subfulvicorne austriacum Ebmer, 1974 - Halictidae, and Bombus wurflenii Radoszkowski, 1859 - Apidae. Polistes sulcifer...

Notes to the first record of Somatochlora meridionalis (Odonata: Corduliidae) in the Czech Republic

Otakar Holuša

Acta Musei Beskidensis 2009, 1:89-95 | DOI: 10.70231/amb.2009.007

In July 2006 (13th VII. and 17th VII.) Somatochlora meridionalis was discovered in the territory of the Czech Republic for the first time. Totally 3 males and 1 female (as well as egg-laying) were found during two excursions near Vlachovice-Vrbětice village. Locality is situated in the south-eastern part of the Czech Republic in the foothills of the Bílé Karpaty Mts. In 2007 and 2008 the species was not found. Potential expansion or permanent population is discussed.

Acta Musei Beskidensis 2009, 1:97-102 | DOI: 10.70231/amb.2009.008

One female of Somatochlora sahlbergi was found on 29 July 2001 in the northern Norway near Gandvik village (the municipality of Sør-Varanger in the province of Finnmark, geographical coordinates N 70°00'16.65'', E 29°15'02.21'', altitude 81 m a.s.l.). Occurrence description of habitat and species ecological demands are shortly discussed.

Contribution to the faunistics of the longhorn beetle Pogonocherus ovatus (Coleoptera: Cerambycidae) in the Wallachian region (West Carpathians, Czech Republic)

Ondřej Konvička, Lukáš Spitzer

Acta Musei Beskidensis 2009, 1:103-107 | DOI: 10.70231/amb.2009.009

The longhorn beetle Pogonocherus ovatus (Goeze, 1777) is a near threatened species in the Czech Republic. Its distribution is limited to the presence of its host plant, silver fir (Abies alba Mill.), in most cases in submontane conditions. We provide a list of records in the Wallachian region based on literature data and new sampling of this species and notes on its life history. All individuals but one were recorded during overwintering from October to April under bark scales of the fir. The species was recorded at 28 places within 13 squares of the grid mapping scheme. The longhorn beetle P. ovatus is still widespread in the Moravian region of Wallachia...
