Rapid large-areal dieback of Central-European Norway spruce (Picea abies (L.) Karst.) stands is increasingly becoming consequential problem of present European forestry. According to empirical approaches, the three main zones of different Picea abies risk growth condition were estimated in the Podbeskydský and Beskydský biogeographical regions (Outer Western Carpathians, the Czech Republic). The theory about the risk growth conditions for spruce was suggested according to observations of forest dieback upto fir-beech vegetation tier (VT) after occurrences of dry episodes and bark-beetle expansion. The model was made by geoinformatic overlay of empirical...

Acta Musei Beskidensis 2012, 4:23-37 | DOI: 10.70231/amb.2012.002

The paper deals with the taxonomic structure of cyanobacteria and algae in the aquatic habitats of restored section of the Bečva River, near Černotín village. Samples were collected five times during the 2005 vegetation season. They were collected from five pools of the river bed and from pools and riffles of stream. The work contains results on the quality and quantity of cyanobacteria and algae communities and some abiotic parameters of the water. Altogether, 130 taxa of cyanobacteria and algae were recorded (101 taxa in pools and 82 taxa in stream). The taxa of diatoms were the most abundant. There were not any strong differences in the taxonomic...

Acta Musei Beskidensis 2012, 4:39-58 | DOI: 10.70231/amb.2012.003

This article explores the vegetation of anthropogenic disturbed habitats. Researched group of systems are highly heterogeneous locations in quarries, where primary succession occurs in confrontation with spatially close well-balanced stages of semi-natural or natural forests and other ruderal sub-communities of forests. The near-ground investigations took place in the southeastern borderland of Bohemian Massif in the area of crystalline rocks and limestone. Phytosociological relevés were recorded in selected non-forest, forest-steppe and forest at 20 localities at the boundary of Hercynian and Westcarpathian biogeographical subprovinces. Partial research...
