Výskyt korundu v recentních sedimentech potoka Lubence na lokalitě Lubno u Frýdlantu nad Ostravicí (Podbeskydská pahorkatina)

Occurrence of corundum in recent sediments of the Lubenec Stream at Lubno near Frýdlant nad Ostravicí (Podbeskydská pahorkatina Upland)

Acta Musei Beskidensis 2013, 5:1-4 | DOI: 10.70231/amb.2013.001

Pink and blue grains of corundum up to 0.32 mm in size were found as accessory phases in two heavy mineral concentrates collected from recent sediments of the Lubenec Stream in the Lubno village. A pink grain contained elevated content of chromium (0.39 wt. % Cr2O3) whereas the blue one showed a higher Ti (1.37 wt. % TiO2). The simple chemical composition of corundum is consistent with a natural origin of these grains and not with anthropogenic one. We assume that corundum can potentially be resedimented from clastic flysch sediments or alternatively it might originate from igneous rocks of the teschenite association or from contact-metamorphic rocks...

Vodohospodářský management beskydských štěrkonosných toků v povodí řeky Morávky

Water management of beskidian gravel-bed streams in the Morávka River basin

Václav Škarpich, Jan Hradecký

Acta Musei Beskidensis 2013, 5:5-12 | DOI: 10.70231/amb.2013.002

The Morávka River pattern has undergone a rapid change of development in the last 500 years. These changes have been caused by a strong anthropogenic impact in the form of the river channel control, bank stabilisation, and level, weir and valley dam construction. This paper summarizes historical impact of man on channels in the Morávka River basin in the sense of identifying degree and categorization of interventions in the river management. Log driving, source of kinetic energy, flood and erosion control measures and water supply represent main causes linked with modifications of channels.

Acta Musei Beskidensis 2013, 5:21-25 | DOI: 10.70231/amb.2013.004

The authors describe eight new localities of the Western Painted Suillus (Suillus lakei (Murrill) A. H. Sm. & Thiers) in 2004-2012 which are the first records from the region of the northeastern Moravia and Silesia. In all the cases, this species grew under Douglas-fir (Pseudotsuga menziesii (Mirbel) Franco) as its mycorrhizal symbiont. This North American fungus has been so far known also from eleven other European countries and New Zealand.

Blanka Dužíková

Acta Musei Beskidensis 2013, 5:27-31 | DOI: 10.70231/amb.2013.005

In 2013 the mycological research was carried out in the Vodopády Satiny Nature Monument. During the research, occurrence of Heterobasidion annosus (Fr.) Bref., Piptoporus betulinus (Bull.) P. Karst., Fomes fomentarius (L.) J. Kickx, Fomitopsis pinicola (Sw.) P. Karst. on Fagus sylvatica L. and Picea abies (L.) Karsten was studied. On 19 attacked trees, ligniperdous mushrooms were found twice as a parasite, once as saproparasite and in two cases Fomes fomentarius was recorded as a reason of tree death. The health status of trees in the mentioned area was classified as a very good.

Evidence výskytu dříve pěstovaných ovocných druhů a odrůd na Frýdeckomístecku

Evidence of previously cultivated fruit species and varieties of the Frýdek-Místek region

Tereza Krchňáková

Acta Musei Beskidensis 2013, 5:33-43 | DOI: 10.70231/amb.2013.006

In this article, occurrence of old formerly grown fruit varieties in the Frýdek-Místek region is evidenced. The evidence was carried out in 2012 and was aimed at finding out the species and variety composition. In total, 264 fruit trees including 198 apple trees, 15 pear trees and 51 plum trees, was evidenced in 11 localities. Fifty five old apple strains and 7 old pear strains were recorded. Old strains are suitable genetic sources for cultivation and also represent landscape-forming element.

This protected wet grassland area is situated near the town of Valašské Meziříčí in the eastern part of the Czech Republic. In total, 60 taxa of bryophytes were recorded (7 liverworts and 53 mosses), one of them a data deficient - vanished species (DD-va) and three moss species belonging to the attention list (LC-att): Brachythecium mildeanum (Schimp.) Schimp., Hygroamblystegium tenax (Hedw.) Jenn. and Pseudocampylium radicale (P. Beauv.) Vanderp. et Hedenäs. The most important record concerns the liverwort Fossombronia pusilla (L.)...

During the recent investigation, 60 species of Heteroptera were confirmed in this valuable habitat, comparing to 57 species collected in similar research done 15 years ago. In total, 90 heteropteran species have been recorded here during both investigations. Three of them are listed in the Czech Redlist - tyrphobionts Lamproplax picea (Flor, 1860) and Ligyrocoris sylvestris (Linnaeus, 1758), and the tyrphophilous species Pachybrachius luridus Hahn, 1826. The hygrophilous...

Peter Drengubiak

Acta Musei Beskidensis 2013, 5:91-103 | DOI: 10.70231/amb.2013.010

The aim of the study was to map the distribution of common lizard in diverse structure of microhabitats of the model area and based on knowledge of the species distribution, to suggest appropriate management measures for individual microhabitats. During the research period since May to September 2011 and 2012, aggregated and random distribution of viviparous lizard (Zootoca vivipara (Jacquin, 1787)) individuals in the model area was determined. Considering that distribution, baseline and alternative management models of non-forest vegetation areas were designed.

Acta Musei Beskidensis 2013, 5:121-136 | DOI: 10.70231/amb.2013.012

Occurrence of Eurasian lynx (Lynx lynx, Linnaeus 1758) was studied in the broader area of the Beskydy Protected Landscape Area (PLA) in the West Carpathians. The monitoring of the species was based on detection of indirect signs of presence (tracks, scat, remains of prey) found during the monitoring events conducted by trained volunteers of Friends of the Earth Czech Republic. Confirmed signs of lynx presence ("C2" according to the SCALP methodology) were analysed together with all walked trails in KFME subsquares and relative lynx abundance was calculated. Camera traps were additionally used during 2009-2012 for confirmation of species presence and...
