In 2014-15 heteropteran community of the peaty meadow and its closest surroundings was studied in the Filůvka Nature Monument (Jablunkovské mezihoří Intermountains). So far, 86 species of Heteroptera have been confirmed in this locality which is valuable from the point of nature conservation. Seven of them are listed in the Czech Redlist - Lamproplax picea is ranked among critically endangered species, shore bug Chartoscirta cocksii belongs among the endangered species, Pachybrachius luridus and Adelphocoris ticinensis represent vulnerable species and three taxons (Acompus rufipes, Aelia klugii and Rubiconia intermedia) are nearly threatened ones....

Ploštice (Heteroptera) údolí řeky Černá Ostravice (Moravskoslezské Beskydy)

Acta Musei Beskidensis 2017, 9:27-48 | DOI: 10.70231/amb.2017.002

In 2015 the Heteroptera community of habitats along the Černá Ostravice River (right source of the Ostravice River) was investigated. In total, 86 species of Heteroptera were identified in the collected material. Among 12 investigated habitats, the highest heteropteran species diversity was found on the bank vegetation (39 species) and on the growth of ski slope. However, the most valuable habitats were the gravel bars, which are very numerous in the Černá Ostravice River and where the critically endangered dispsocorid species Cryptostemma alienum lives. Other faunistically important species was discovered in close to nature habitat of shadowed forest...

This paper presents the accessions of the mammals in the vertebratological collection of the Beskydy Mts Museum in Frýdek-Místek. Specimens were collected mainly from Frýdek-Místek district, but also in other parts of the Czech Republic during years 1997-2017. These accessions are represented by 160 specimens of 49 species and forms. Besides rather common species, the collection includes also several rare ones.

Biometrické hodnocení edifikátorů společenstev "dubových bučin s jedlí" v oblasti Hostýnských vrchů a Bílých Karpat

The work solves the problem of forest ecosystem classification in the forest site classification system - the communities "oak-beech wood with fir". Subject of this study is to evaluate contemporary resolution units of oak beech with fir (Querci-Fagetum (abietosum)) in forest-typological mapping in the territory of the Hostýnské vrchy Hills and the Bílé Karpaty (White Carpathians) Mts. Biometric characteristics of significant tree species as edificators present forest stands - Abies alba, Fagus sylvatica, Quercus petraea were compared. Life signs of Abies alba were evaluated as the 4th beech vegetation tiers (Fageta s.lat.). There are proposed changing...

Acta Musei Beskidensis 2017, 9:71-73 | DOI: 10.70231/amb.2017.005

A new locality of aniseed webcap (Cortinarius odorifer) was discovered near the town of Nový Jičín (the Czech Republic) in autumn 2016. Twenty six fruitbodies were recorded on a single herb-rich site in a mixed forest. It is only the eighth known locality of this rare fungi in the Czech Republic. The newly discovered locality is exceptional as Cortinarius odorifer is forming mycorrhiza here probably with silver fir (Abies alba) whereas on all up to date known Czech localities the species is probably associated with norway spruce (Picea abies).

This short report presents a breeding record of the Goosander (Mergus merganser) in Zámecký Park in Frýdek-Místek (CZ). The Goosander is a critically endangered bird in the Czech Republic. Two females and three nestlings were recorded in Zámecký Park in May 2017 - the females were observed in a tree cavity of the Honey Locust.
