New locality of aniseed webcap (Cortinarius odorifer) near Nový Jičín (Czech Republic)
- Agentura ochrany přírody a krajiny ČR, Kaplanova 1, CZ-148 00 Praha 11 - Chodov
A new locality of aniseed webcap (Cortinarius odorifer) was discovered near the town of Nový Jičín (the Czech Republic) in autumn 2016. Twenty six fruitbodies were recorded on a single herb-rich site in a mixed forest. It is only the eighth known locality of this rare fungi in the Czech Republic. The newly discovered locality is exceptional as Cortinarius odorifer is forming mycorrhiza here probably with silver fir (Abies alba) whereas on all up to date known Czech localities the species is probably associated with norway spruce (Picea abies).
